Spring is arriving to

Spring is arriving to
A great population
Social distancing of
Strangers and relations

The world comes together
Oddly, staying apart
Like stars of a night sky
A constellation chart

We are not like two stones

We are not like two stones
We are two trees planted
Growing in one place up
And out, slightly slanted

We have stood together
Roots firm, weather tested
Both steady and healthy
That robins have nested

We travel from brilliance

We travel from brilliance
Sun moments, sunken posts
A collection of time
Now memories at most

Mixture and chemistry
Sparks like stars are burning
Holes in a vast darkness
In a cosmic turning

Here I am, so simple

Here I am, so simple
Individual one
Coarseness sanded smooth by
Existing, lost or won

Living the fleeting blink
Or the fixated eye
With other travelers
The them, the you, the I

Learning to celebrate

Learning to celebrate
Beginnings and endings
Seeing the miracles
In constant days blending

The right hand raised to oath
To nurture joy not storms
To wear silver linings
As outer uniforms

The end of the questions

The end of the questions
There is no pot of gold
No matter the byway
Answers never unfold

No greater intellect
Than kindness unbridled
So this is our journey
From pauper to titled

Here we are in future

Here we are in future
Did we play our cards right
Did we overstate plans
Have proper oversight

So much unexpected
Happier, less worry
In hindsight our eyes were
Just a tad bit blurry

Painting this painting twice

Painting this painting twice
Victorious mundane
The sun setting again
The tide caught in refrain

Find me the rarest moon
Or a solar eclipse
I am in rotation
Repetitive ellipse

In this great atmosphere

In this great atmosphere
Feeling so art nouveau
Organic and lovely
From head to twirling toe

In the river of grace
Past rapids and the falls
Sun through silver clouds casts
Shadows on whitewashed walls

To find the beginning

To find the beginning
Back to the bulb before
The unopened tulip
The threshold not the door

Youth, inexperience
Sense of discovery
Curiosity itch
Love that is motherly

Survivor suceeding

Survivor suceeding
Forgiveness and healing
The ability to
Move on from the feeling

Refusing to have scar
Recovering the goal
To have come to the knife
And to not have cut soul

Bequeath the forever

Bequeath the forever
This moment on its knees
The baton not passing
No sprouting leaves on trees

Dead end, finality
The unbreakable dam
Nothing to continue
Unknown offspring of am

Excellence allusive

Excellence allusive
Pinnacle with panache
Steeping in the steady
Mediocre kibosh

And with introspection
We must be transparent
Look beyond ourselves
See what is apparent

Soon the magnolia

Soon the magnolia
Will have its Rite of Spring
The disruption, chaos
The voices that can't sing

Together in chorus
So much is out of key
That we somehow perceive
To be in harmony

We lost our private woods

We lost our private woods
The manipulation
The secret exposed and
The interrogation

Two Hansels crawling out
Of the oven and house
From the private woods, we're
Now quiet as a mouse

A small portion of Life

A small portion of Life
Not in longevity
But in taking chances
Success or jeopardy

True to our promises
We become battered rock
One foot nailed to the floor
The other, worn out sock
