Cauliflower clouds gone

Cauliflower clouds gone
Chimney smoke clouds are here
Stark shadows replaced with
A softer atmosphere

An autumn Overwhelm
Colors sunk to our feet
Baldosa tiles made of
Leaves, petals, corn and wheat

Viewed chronologically

Viewed chronologically
Easy to understand
But when looking back one
Can play a better hand

Accepting the failures
Processing the regrets
We still must press on with
Forgiveness and forgets

Always chasing gray clouds

 Always chasing gray clouds
Trying to bust and such
Wanting happiness for
All those who suffer much

But sometimes the gray cloud
Sends out a lightning bolt
And does not want joy and
Considers it insult

Is the air seeking air

Is the air seeking air
Are trees wanting more trees
Stars seeing other stars
Saying that looks like me

The solitude of thought
Sometimes goes door to door
Welcome in the salesman
Who's wanting nothing more

In a summer farewell

In a summer farewell
Chevron geese already flown
Trees glowing in still sun
Leaves like confetti thrown

Hopper light now Rothko
The blond grass browned and tanned
A day without movement
Time is just an hour hand

Eight line open prairie

Eight line open prairie
Words sparse like distant trees
Their meaning a highway
Extending out like sleeves

The nautilus shell is
An unrolled rope ladder
To ascend not descend
Into the blue matter

We must cross this line or

We must cross this line or
We will forever part
The ideology
Of both the mind and heart

Are not overlapping
So in this divide
We must conquer and fight
There is no compromise

In the compactness is

In the compactness is
A distant left and right
The below and above
Lowly low, highest height

An old pin oak yawning
It arms are branching up
Sky is not a margin
Like liquid in a cup

The maple tree is gone

The maple tree is gone
The crepe myrtle still there
Curtains drawn on doorways
The hedge could use more care

The keys no longer ours
After all these decades
Can you see the clay pots?
Quick, someone raised the shades

Wolf Kahn passed during the

Wolf Kahn passed during the
Coronavirus news
Somehow mid-October
In casual peruse

The Ides of March struck!
So sad to see him gone
Enthusiasm for
Life and color lives on

Not universal but

Not universal but
These feelings are not just
My feelings, are they yours?
I am thinking, they must

A new theme, no the same
So many instruments
Playing the same notes all
Hanging like ornaments

Just after the after

Just after the after
A new weather report
Forgettable headline
Win or lose, any sport

At the start of never
The disappearing mark
Growing ambivalence
Impenetrable dark

We were never wanted

We were never wanted
In my own mother's eyes
Our original sin
Being born, I surmise

No matter what or when
We came into our own
We were bad seeds she wished
That she had never sown

Seeking time and timeless

Seeking time and timeless
This moment will soon be
Out of style, no motion
Wanting anomaly

A moment, not marker
Pages in a cover
Perhaps a mystery
Will vigil discover

To turn around and see

To turn around and see
Futures not meant to be
Boats grounded, lost at sea
Many abandoned schemes

Yet surprises arose
Circumstances we chose
And weighing each suppose
Finding possible dreams
