Not asking why, but not

Not asking why, but not
Surrendering the cause
To have found a clearing
Not solving Life, a pause

In this moment, surely
Passing time will erase
I can feel my breathing
And I can sense my place

The sunlight through my door

The sunlight through my door
Moves slowly on the floor
And soon will be no more
I love you in this day

The hardships we’re facing
It seems like we’re racing
And the World’s erasing
The sunlight never stays

Barely moving inches

Barely moving inches
With miles of hills to go
I can’t see my future
As if my eyes were closed

So here I am dreaming
Up in the atmosphere
Where hawks fly in circles
My path becomes more clear

Nothing particular

Nothing particular
It’s just another day
Skyscrapers now empty
Their people on their way

And there is no new news
It is now half past eight
Cardinals are calling
Hurry, it’s getting late

If I had the answers

If I had the answers
Would I write them in stone
Would I use word of mouth
State them in a poem

Would the World understand
Would people call them lies
Would they celebrate Truth
Or just keep asking why

Unlikely destiny

Unlikely destiny
Unfortunate distance
An uprooted sapling
That met with resistance

Here’s a great blue heron
My inland albatross
Ribbons of road for me
And miles of land to cross

And Carl's fog is here (Variation)

And Carl’s fog is here
I ask myself the why’s
For I only think of you
That graces us then dies

And photographs from space
Bring awe of great, but not
How small we are, like fog
That’s here and then forgot
