So here I am, I've reached
So here I am, I’ve reached
That place where I forget
The date, the time of day
Just how the sun had set
How much it meant, but now
There’s nothing I can do
I’m starting to forget
My thoughts no longer new
Part of me still living
Part of me still living
But some branches have died
Look, here’s a little green
Alive on this one side
Let’s saw the dead wood off
Dashed hopes, old dreams, lost love
Let me be green again
Leaves sprouting up above

How can these words be heard
How can these words be heard
Above the loudest noises
Will they ever echo
With their quiet voices
Like being lost at sea
Never leaving footprints
Or were they meant to be
Only for this instance
The nurse said to hold you
The nurse said to hold you
But in my arms not down
You died and the next day
The fog lay on the ground
My love never died, still
I miss your company
It’s hard to look at Life
In the absence of we
There is no glory here
There is no glory here
Something far simpler found
Call it contentment which
There is no joyous sound
Maybe a single thread
In a much larger cloth
Not the butterfly but
Perhaps I am the moth

And two crimson hearts in
And two crimson hearts in
Speechless conversations
See a lonely moon climb
Amongst constellations
There's a nocturne hummed by
Cicada with fireflies
Painting a summer night
Beneath this lone moon rise
Again the fading light
Again the fading light
Another day over
Into the abyss like
A discarded clover
Stars like idle snowflakes
Caught in a static squall
Yet they can't be swept up
And almost never fall
