Why is there such violence
Why is there such violence
I’m staring into space
I wonder if I am
Part of the human race
The stars are far apart
Wars too close together
Somewhere there must be birds
Of a peaceful feather

Somehow we will find time
Somehow we will find time
No longer in a crowd
A sunny day for two
No noise or din, no loud
No distance between us
As we sit side by side
In a vast open space
Where Earth is wide as wide

Impressionistic day
Impressionistic day
The leaves painted with light
Beneath a serene sky
With cirrus clouds of white
Yet, it's modernistic
In colors of Van Gogh
With the wide open space
Of a peaceful Rothko
To stand in full color
To stand in full color
The light glowing within
The landscape, the white clouds
The very edges, the fringe
With joyousness, with pride
In peacefulness and grace
In the moment, basking
Just standing in one place

Today is a sparrow
Today is a sparrow
A grain of sand, clover
Nothing unusual
No rainbow or over
Rock, not precious metal
A drop in the ocean
A small fraction, with no
Significant quotient
Coming to the surface
Coming to the surface
Youth is disappearing
Days without any change
Yet years keep appearing
We’re caught in a funnel
That leads us to a void
Spinning in a spiral
That no one can avoid

Waiting for an answer
Waiting for an answer
Roads I could have chosen
Different avenues
Now lost in erosion
And here I am waiting
Watching the clouds invade
The sun that is fading
Another day is made
