You are gone, everyday

You are gone, everyday
Adds to yesterday's height
Some tree leaves won't fall, stuck
Like starlings in fixed flight

Not clinging to places
Each one, a slipping shawl
Life's ornaments fall from
The bough, cradle and all

Survivor not victim

Survivor not victim
Ability to heal
And not bruise like a peach
Thicker rind, harder peel

Share the experience
Even after the scab
Never forgetting but
Not reliving the stab

In all this persistence

In all this persistence
A sense of withdrawal
Off the path, quit the race
Not look at tomorrow

Not see the human race
In nature find solace
And accept the knowledge
That no one is flawless

Let us cross the threshold

Let us cross the threshold
Without bags of anger
And bloom in the sunlight
Far from present danger

In the psychedelic
On stems of stamina
Rejoice freedom beneath
Stars of Andromeda

When is enough enough

When is enough enough
Analyzing the crack
The earthquake eruption
The plates not going back

Can we shape our future
We are not made of stone
Not let PTSD
Be marrow in our bone

What is our mission here

What is our mission here
Love and improve, not hurt
Ourselves and all others
Before the toss of dirt

No me, myself and I
Not table chair, a bench
What is a helping hand
Pot and pan, hammer, wrench

Weather universal

Weather universal
But not the storms inside
A gold fish bowl heart or
Water not purified

Comfort found in sharing
Can clear the storms so skies
Have beautiful sunlight
Or starry emphasize
