Days die and disappear
Days die and disappear
Just like generations
So we’re in the moment
Having conversations
There is no end to far
Yet we’re so close we touch
Time moves on regardless
It’s both small and too much
Cornfields in a snowfall
Cornfields in a snowfall
White barns covered in snow
Brick homes standing alone
The sun is rising low
Where’s the comfort and joy
We meet to say goodbye
‘Tis the season again
Another year gone by

In need of compassion
In need of compassion
Held here at this checkmate
Wanting to start over
But finding it's too late
At rest on an incline
How has this come to be
Not reaching zenith or
Succumbed to gravity

Must I cross the ocean
Must I cross the ocean
To say I know the sea
Perhaps I must be stung
To understand the bee
In the briefest moment
I think I comprehend
What little do I know
Or answer in the end

So true an affection
So true an affection
That my eyes can’t conceal
My heart has been given
All shadows now are real
In the light from within
The privilege is all mine
In Life, my dance partner
Our fingers are entwined
There is no hidden world
There is no hidden world
Nothing outside this cage
No paradise, heaven
For all eternal age
Not made by a potter
We are not molded clay
No being gives us Life
And takes it all away

Again these images
Again these images
These relics from the past
How can I forget them
And the shadows they cast
Paintings that never blur
Third eye fixed in my mind
Like rocks in an hourglass
That cannot pass with time
