Nothing is worth noting

Nothing is worth noting
Not a cloud in the sky
And the streets are empty
Not a sole passerby

All the birds are silent
And the bees are napping
No breeze through the window
And no front door tapping

Monumental feeling

Monumental feeling
Like a big gulp looming
Inhaled and held until
The small heart starts booming

Then exhaled and passing
Normal Life resuming
What was overwhelming
Becomes unassuming

Useless infinity

Useless infinity
No want of forever
Unable to retrieve
Just one day whenever

We were touching souls, the
Past and future missing
Intersecting comets
Two entities kissing

Beneath a summer sky

Beneath a summer sky
With clouds from a whistle
The red-winged black birds perch
Near the prairie thistle

On cattails tall as corn
Like gargoyles on church spires
Forming lookouts from here
And the telephone wires

Left with all this wreckage

 Left with all this wreckage
Letters not making words
Nothing is complete now
All quarters, halves or thirds

Or slivers and pieces
Covered in its own dust
All remnants of a joy
That tumbled from its cusp

Where has the love gone to

Where has the love gone to
The performance ended
Do we no longer care
The garden untended

All at once pure brilliance
Like a comet, not stars
Blazing, burning, leaving
For a moment, just ours

There is a true sadness

There is a true sadness
In the leaves, in sunlight
In the way shadows move
Like the head of a kite

Or slow waves of a hand
Not greeting, waving bye
As the sun bears down and
Moves slowly through the sky
